My name is Elicia Highfield, and I am currently enrolled on FdSc International spa management degree program at Buxton university. I am currently studying my second year here at Buxton and enrolled on my degree program in 2014. Since starting my degree I gained a variety of skills including confidence, academic skills, and of course progressed my therapist skills. I finish my foundation degree in May and as of yet currently do not have plans to top up to Bsc. In September I plan to study my Pcet (Professional certificate in education ) in a college in wales where i hope i can translate my passion for Spa therapy in to a teacher/training role. I have a new job, which I start on the 25th April, In a private training school which trains therapists in Korean treatments. The school is based in Wales, however the company has satellite schools in London and Birmingham and is looking to expand further. At the end of this year I fly to Bali in Indonesia to train Jomma massage, which is a pre and post natal wellness massage.
As part of my degree program, all students work in the Devonshire spa at the dome to gain valuable management experience while studying, In February 2016 Devonshire spa won ''Day spa of the year 2016'' awarded by professional beauty. As a university and a student this is a huge accolade and I am very proud to be part of the team here.
